Feeble and frail, the young Veena was perceived as the weakest amongst their age and outcasted by the other children, due to the upheld values and traditions within the clan. With their “true” form revealed upon coming of age, Herloev could do naught but leave the comfort of their home as a male Viera eventually collected them and the other male children to train in the wilderness.}

^{A survival of the fittest, so the training could be summarized, as it inevitably proved difficult to fend for themselves with the continuous skirmishes with the other children, let alone the trials themselves. As the training took turn for the worse, Herloev found themselves pushed from a deadly cliff… and woke in the hands of passing Garlean watch guards near Othard upon their consciousness.}

Their past values were abandoned, the relationships they once held forgotten, as Herloev committed to the life of a soldier… until betrayal thrived once more, thrusting them to flee injured into a merchant ship to Limsa. So ‘ere they started over again, neither as a Veena warder or an Empire soldier, but as themselves.}
